On April 28, 2025, in Hanoi, the Vietnam–Japan Forum took place with the aim of promoting cooperation in strategic industries, high technology, green transformation, and semiconductors. This event marked an important step forward in the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru emphasized that strengthening cooperation in the field of high technology is essential, paving the way for a new era in bilateral collaboration. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s Minister of Finance, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thắng, affirmed that Japan has always been a special, strategic, and trustworthy partner of Vietnam, making significant contributions to infrastructure modernization, technology transfer, and human resource development.

One of the forum’s highlights was Japan’s commitment to supporting Vietnam in building a factory to produce a key material for the semiconductor supply chain, aiming to enhance production and research capabilities in Vietnam's semiconductor industry.

The forum also provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss cooperation in green transition, with the goal of promoting sustainable development and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, while strengthening high-quality human resource training in information technology, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors.

This event not only reflected the strong commitment of both nations to deepen economic cooperation but also opened up new opportunities for businesses and citizens in both countries in high-tech and sustainable development sectors.
